Hi, this is Lin here. It’s the day after the Winter Solstice, here on the east coast of Australia, NSW. I was up at Wollumbin sacred site mountain yesterday. We had a big storm over the weekend, and as I arrived, the Tweed River was flowing very fast; strong and powerful. I recorded my experience onto my iPhone and will transcribe what I experienced. “Lots of debris and broken branches in the palm forest, and yet a vibrant stillness, including the bubbling of the creeks and waterfalls. There’s such a powerful feeling here. Touching the moist bark of the trees as I climb, and feel the soft earth beneath my feet. Everything feels so present. I’m surrounded by so many tree beings, mostly palms, and tall tall trees – I’m not sure which ones they are – I’ll have to find that out (booyongs, carabeens, brush box, flame and giant stinging trees). Strong, beautiful, lush. There’s sunlight coming through in different places. So fresh and here, now. Presence. Palm after palm after palm, sacred beauty. I wonder what creatures are watching me now and listening? I saw a video one time of Wollumbin at night and was amazed to see how many critters live in the forest.I wonder how many homes have been lost in this storm? A lot of broken trunks lying on the ground. A time of renewal, restoring balance. Mother Nature knows what’s right. She knows the way for us. Just listen and be still. Touching the moss, so soft. Stillness of being, stillness of heart. I feel fresh, I feel alive, I feel invigorated, I feel awake.
