I feel so blessed to have won this beautiful feather painted by beautiful shaman woman, Vicki Liddell of Sacred Skins and Medicine Things.
Here’s the story that won me this beautiful feather
On a visit to Cape Town about 15 years ago, I climbed Table Mountain (sacred site energy vortex). I was born on the base of this mountain and in the early morning I was born, there was a fire on the mountain, really close to the nursing home. (I have an Aries rising!). Anyway, back to my story, I climbed the mountain from a side-path starting at Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.
Three-quarters of the way up, I realized I’d lost my way. The path had disappeared and I found myself going through thick bush and climbing and gripping onto rocks as I went, because it was so steep.
As I was nearing the top, I felt this shadow come over and heard the sound of wings flapping. Then suddenly, there it was, right over me. A huge (and back then, rare to see) black Verreaux eagle (wingspan of 1.8-2.3m or 5ft11-7ft7”). Bigger than me!
I nearly fell off the mountain!
It took huge effort and determination to still my fear and keep climbing, as I only had a couple of meters to go. After checking me out, the eagle flew off and as I reached the top I breathed out a huge sigh of relief and deep gratitude for being alive.
See you at the Consciousness Expo on the Gold Coast this weekend. Stall i56.
