Do you find that going to a power place in nature assists you when you’re wanting stronger connection within?
I found myself at Wollumbin, sacred mountain and highest peak on the most easterly point of Australia over the weekend. My most favourite band, Oka, were playing at a campout at the base of the mountain. After pitching my tent (how lucky – opposite the river), I headed up to the venue in time for welcome to Kuntri by local custodian, Uncle Lewis Walker.
This was followed by an awesome invitation to connect to the ancestors; and to our ancestors and to open ourselves up to show them who we are. A prayer, followed by the women and girls dancing (I joined in with others – such a joy). Then we were all smudged one by one in sacred ceremony with the burning eucalyptus leaves.
What a brilliant evening under the canopy of rainforest trees, out in nature, dancing under the welcome cloud covering (we’ve had drought for months). Such a great night!
I don’t know about you, but I’ve found the past three days to be really intense – lots of anger arising and noticing the mind wanting to feed the stories. No, I’m not going to give in to the feelings that are presenting. What am I learning from this? What are they trying to show me? Where am I hiding? What am I not saying for fear of wanting to keep the peace? Perhaps there’s another way of expressing myself instead of through confrontation….
Can any of you relate to this?
Till next time….
Please have a look at the upcoming retreats in 2018. There’s Hawaii, Sedona + HopiLand, Mount Shasta, Ancient Britain and Byron Bay (including Wollumbin).
